Building the first decentralized ecosystem for existing and future internet infrastructure.
A technology provider specializing in offline networking, multi-platform interoperability, and security solutions set out to create an incentivized mesh networking product powered by cryptocurrency rewards. The goal was to enable users to share connectivity seamlessly and securely while earning crypto tokens for contributing to the network. My role involved designing an intuitive experience that balanced technical complexity with accessibility, ensuring users could easily understand, join, and benefit from the decentralized ecosystem.
Process
The design process began with user and market research to understand how people connect, share data, and interact with decentralized networks. From these insights, I mapped user journeys and defined key touchpoints for onboarding, network participation, and rewards tracking. I created low-fidelity wireframes to explore different interaction models and flows, testing early concepts with users to validate ease of use and clarity. Once the structure was refined, I developed high-fidelity prototypes and contributed to a scalable design system to ensure visual consistency and reusability across mobile and web platforms. This system included modular components, color tokens, and typography guidelines optimized for both light and dark modes. The result was a cohesive, intuitive experience that made advanced networking and crypto functionality feel simple and approachable.
Results
Our approach focuses on reducing cognitive strain, building user confidence, and structuring tasks into digestible segments. This method resulted in an impressive 38 percentage point increase in the KYC completion rate.
